THE GET ACQUAINTED MEETING Our meeting will require approximately a ½ hour of your time. The purpose of the visit is to meet you and your pets, go over our Service Agreement and your Pet and Home profiles, pick up two keys and collect payment for your reservation. During this meeting, we'll have the opportunity to interact with your pets and familiarize ourselves with your home and pet routine. Likewise, it gives you time to feel comfortable with us caring for your pets and home while you are away. If it's deemed necessary, one or two trial visits may be scheduled for "special needs" pets. In order to spend more time with your fur-babies, and less time in the office with your paper work, our policy is that we don't invoice. Payment in full is required at the time of our first consultation meeting and for all holiday bookings to secure your place on our calendar. Other than holiday reservations, payment for future service may be left in a pre-arranged place, usually the kitchen counter. We prefer not to receive cash for security purposes; however, you may do so if you choose. Pet Sitting visits are 30 min. long and the price is based on distance of travel. Example : if you live in the Camden ,Rockport, Rockland area the price is $15.00 per 30 min. visit With fuel price going up it may be subject to change. We have many great references. When you request service you will receive our Coastal Pet Sitting contract and Veterinarian Release forms. The forms may seem a bit daunting at first; however, remember we will refer to these documents in your absence so please be as detailed as possible. Rest assured that whenever you request service again all the information will be in place and will not have to be done over. Promise! Important: If there are any changes; new pets, illness, medications, lock changes, alarm codes, people with permitted access to your home, etc., be sure to let us know so we can update our files. Important information and items we need include: 1. Your pet(s) vaccination record. As the health and safety of all our animal friends is a top priority with us, we're sure you will understand why we request all pets to be current on their vaccinations before service starts. If you find you're running short on time before your trip, we can take your pet(s) to your vet for a reasonable fee if we're advised of your need early enough to schedule. 2. The name, address and phone number of your preferred veterinarian and/or clinic. We supply a Veterinarian Release Form for emergencies. 3. It is very important that we have your itinerary complete with your location and all contact numbers where you can be reached while you are away. 4. The name and number of at least one local emergency contact. 5. Two copies of all keys needed to gain entry to your home. OK. Now that you have gathered the phones numbers and other pertinent information and you have copies of your keys and records in hand, it's time to move onto step two. 1. Please have all food and cleaning supplies etc. out in plain sight for me. 2. We also water plants and bring in mail at your request. 3. Pet Sitting visits are 30 min. each. During the holidays cat visits may be a bit shorter. 4. Please make sure you have someone plow your driveway in the winter so I can get to your house. 5. I also require a back up in the winter for people with dogs. If the roads become impassable, please have a neighbor or relative ready to take care of your dog if we have a big storm. Maine winters are very unpredictable. FOR THE FUTURE OK. You're looking forward to spending the holidays with the family or there's an upcoming business trip and you need us to take care of your fur babies. Be aware we are an "advance reservation" service with a limited number of bookings. In order to maintain the highest quality for all contracted visits, we do not overbook, regardless of season or demand. We are not an "on call" (except by special arrangement) or emergency service, though when possible we will try to help in emergency situations. Short-notice (less than one week) reservations will be accepted if space is available, however, two weeks notice or more is strongly suggested, and one month may be required for holidays, spring break, and busy summer/winter travel months. Please feel free to inquire about last minute services but availability is on a first-come first-serve basis. The more notice you give us the chances are better that we will be able to book your dates so please notify us a soon as you know when you will need our services. For the safety of your pets and because phones and computers can "crash", reservations requested by answering machine are not considered final or guaranteed until confirmed. Always confirm your reservation with us directly as we can't accept a voice mail left as a reservation. Please call just before you leave to let us know you have left on the date you reserved with us. If you need to extend your trip, we will only accept extensions by direct confirmation only. This ensures that we won't miss your request and your pet won't be left alone. Please: When you return home call my answering machine to leave me a message that you have arrived home and your Pets have someone to care for them!! | |
