PSI's State of the Industry Survey - credibility, education and information

Dear PSI Member,

Pet Sitters International has many responsibilities to its membership. As an educational source and support network for professional pet sitters, PSI has the responsibility to gather and analyze data and demographics about the pet-sitting industry. We do this in order to:

• Increase the credibility of pet sitters among pet-care professionals.
• Educate the pet-owning public about the profession of pet sitting.
• Provide our members with the business descriptions and financial averages needed for business plans, loan applications, marketing plans and more.

In the years since the last PSI State of the Industry Survey, membership has grown from 5,400 to our current count of 7,900 members. This represents a 46 percent increase—and many possible changes to the profile of the typical PSI pet sitter. We need new input from all of our members to update our survey results.

This is the only way to present an accurate picture of PSI members. That’s what this survey is all about—INFORMATION. It is the information needed to develop an accurate profile of PSI members and the pet-sitting industry.

Your completed survey is needed to ensure you are included among your pet-sitting colleagues in the survey results. The questions are simple and the entire process should only take 20-25 minutes of your time.

Every PSI member who has listed an e-mail address with us is being notified about the opportunity to complete the survey online. It is important to YOU—it is important to your colleagues throughout the pet-sitting world—and it is important to PSI.

The survey is being conducted and tabulated by a third-party custom market research firm. Individual data is completely confidential as all responses will be collectively analyzed and reported.

If you complete your survey on or before April 25, 2008, you will receive access to an online results report AND you’ll be entered in a drawing to win these great prizes:

GRAND PRIZE: The Iams Company will sponsor one grand prize winner on an all-expense paid trip to PSI’s 2009 Quest for Excellence convention in Orlando, Florida including $100 of 'spending cash!' (Up to $1500 in total value.)
