Aggressive Dog Disclaimer

As you must be aware, there are always liabilities and risks involved when accepting assignments for special needs dogs, particularly the aggressive. In general, PSI does not recommend that any pet sitter take such a risk and endanger their safety. Even with extensive behavioral training and background, animal care professionals can be seriously injured by an aggressive dog, as can other pets and/or people in the vicinity. There are many variables with aggressive dogs, including medical conditions that require a veterinary diagnosis.

 

If you would like professional assistance or advice on handling aggressive dogs, you might consider contacting the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants where there is a locator to find a qualified consultant closest to your region. This might also be a good resource to offer pet owners of animals with behavior issues.
