Homemade Pet Toys

Are you low on cash but still want to entertain your pet? Check out these fun and easy home-made pet toy ideas and send us some of your own.

 

Dogs

What do you do with that worn out sock that's missing its mate?  Send it to sock heaven or let Fido have a go at it!  Tie a knot in an old sock and you'll have a tug-of-war toy that your dog will love.  Clean up is easy - simply throw the sock in the washer.

 

Cats

There is no greater mystery to a cat than what lies inside an empty paper bag or box.  Cats love to jump in, crawl through and "stalk" paper bags.  Cardboard boxes also make great sport for an inquisitive kitty!  These products are also easy to recycle once Whiskers tires of them.

 

Small cage pets

Empty paper towel or toilet paper rolls are an easy and inexpensive way to make tunnels and hiding places for your rat, mouse, hamster or gerbil.  They are also fun for the pet to shred.

 

Large Birds, Parrots

Don't know what to do with that old phone book?  If you are like most of us, you have more than your fair share of phone books.  Large birds, such as macaws and cockatoos, love to shred things - especially paper.  Old phone books are sure to keep your bird busy for hours.
