Pia Silvani: Understanding Canine Body Language
There are some basic concepts to remember in order to help you better understand what your dog is saying to you and how your signals might be interpreted by your dog.
Understanding dogs’ social behavior is a crucial part of understanding why dogs do what they do and how to determine if you are going to be working with a dog that has communication problems with people. Labeling a dog “submissive,” “fearful” or “aggressive” is not accurate wording. Traits and behaviors are different. Knowing some behavioral categories when living and working with a dog will be helpful to you and your clients.
Pia will use videos to illustrate canine body language to help you better understand your clients’ (and your own!) dogs.
