Music for Mutts

Who let the dogs out? Woof, woof!

The Animal Rescue of Stokes County celebrated its 2nd annual Music for Mutts on October, 18, at Central Park in King, NC. The special event raised $1400 for the rescue group and included live music, several contests, pet portraits and lots of hearty food.

As one of the many sponsors, PSI  provided educational information, gift bags and Halloween-themed water bowls for the canine participants.

The weather was wet and chilly, but it did not dampen the spirits of the the dog walkers, who began the event by walking adoptable dogs around the park.

The pet costume contest was a big hit with the crowd and several prizes were given to happy winners.  The Solid Rock Quartet, Broken Bread, Rainjacket and the Taylor Vaden Band rocked the park with live music.

The largest dog at the event was Biggen, a great Dane owned by Teresa McNeil.

Costume contestants included Bambi, a Chinese crested dog owned by Debra Price, Amos, a Yorkshire terrier owned by Gail Baumgarner, Sammy, a beautiful mixed-breed, and Wosie, a Yorkshire terrier.
