"As my business has grown, I've tried to give gifts to each of my furry and feathered friends without spending more than $1.50 per item. Gift shopping for kitties has been a challenge, but I have managed to find a few things that have worked well for me:
"Last year I made over 350 dough ornaments that I personalized with my clients' pets names. It was very labor intensive, but the ornaments turned out great. (I had to start this process in January!) "In an effort to go 'green,' I use recycled newspaper as litter for cat boxes and rodent cages.
"I also suggest following up with clients and sending a client satisfaction survey after the holidays. New clients will appreciate this level of customer service and hopefully call again.
"My favorite pet product right now is the Feliway plug-in diffuser. It relaxes nervous kitties and helps keep them from clawing the furniture and with inappropriate urination.
