About Us

Happy Tails is owned by Joan Farrell. Joan is a San Diego native and has owned reptiles, rodents, amphibians, ferrets, fish, birds, chameleons, bearded dragons, snakes, cats, dogs and more.
A trained vet assistant as well, her love of animals is life long.
Joan is the proud parent of three dogs, three cats, two chameleons, an adult daughter and a teenage son. Joan's husband Marty, also a devoted animal lover, helps out with clients as well.
Not only will we make your pets feel loved, we also take in the mail, newspaper, rotate lights if needed and light watering as needed.
Each visit is tailored for each clients individual need.


Our History

Joan has been helping people with pets since childhood, and has always watched pets for others since a very young age.
In high school, Joan took grooming classes, and in later years, took vet assisting classes, and was the owner of "Dirty Paws" pet wash in San Diego for 3 years. Knowing the need for dependable, personal pet care, Joan started Happy Tails Pet Sitting, and has been pet sitting full time for many years. The list of referrals is huge and the pets love Joan and her family!

Prices Vary by client need- according to mileage, amount of pets and service involved.

30+ min. visit $19
(More than one visit recommended for vacationing parents-)
Dog Walk- $19 (30 minutes)
Overnites $35-up

Cat Visits $17-up
