"Before becoming a pet sitter, I was a zoo keeper!

"After obtaining a degree in psychology, with a concentration in Animal Behavior Research, I went to work at a zoo where I cared for many types of exotic animals including monkeys, lemurs, birds, bats, large cats and bears.

"As the years went by, I decided on a career change that led me to 'Corporate America.' And while the corporate experience gave me several opportunities, it wasn’t as fulfilling as I had hoped. I wanted something more, something that combined my two passions – both animals and business.

"As a former zoo keeper, I realized how much time, energy and patience went into caring for animals. As a pet owner, I also realized how hard it is to give that responsibility over to a stranger.

"This led me to create my own pet-sitting business, Zoo Sitters LLC and has given me freedom - true freedom!  I'm never stressed and I love my job. I have great 'people clients' who truly appreciate what I do and amazing 'pet clients' that I get to spend my days with.

"Another perk of being a business owner is that I am the first line of communication when it comes to any 'pet issues' that my clients may be having.  It also allows me to share my knowledge and experience with others. Being a pet sitter has given me the ability to run a top-notch business with an emphasis on customer service and professionalism.  I use my creativity to keep customers coming back time and time again - giving me limitless opportunities.

"The biggest benefit to becoming a pet sitter is earning a living by doing something I love. I get to meet so many different kinds of pets, all with their own unique personalities.  I adore having an extended 'pet family.' When people ask me how many dogs and cats I have, I can now tell them - a few hundred!

"I am truly passionate about my career."
