New fish-sitting contract details feeding, water chemistry, temperature and tank careJune 30, 2010
Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters, has announced a new specialty pet care contract for professionals who provide at-home care for fish.
Fish-care experts and experienced fish sitters were consulted as part of the contract’s creation. The contract covers everything from fish descriptions and feeding instructions to water chemistry, temperature and tank care. The contract also addresses care needs related to the home such as temperature settings, lighting and plant care.
“More than 14 million American homes have freshwater or saltwater aquariums, which adds up to 183 million pet fish,” said Ellen Price, PSI’s academic manager. “The care of aquarium fish requires information and instructions that are very different from the care of any other companion animal.”
According to Price, the document provides a logical flow of information exchange for the fish care giver and the fish owner so they can easily move through a discussion on major points of care. The contract addresses number of species, location of food, medications or water treatments and cleaning instructions. It essentially contains all of the pertinent information a pet-care business owner needs to provide the best aquarium and fish care.
The PSI Fish-Sitting Contact is available on a CD and is compatible with Microsoft Office Word. The easy-to-use format allows for personalization and is available through the PSIStoreOnline.com. |
