PSI Causes

PSI seeks opportunities to give back to the pet community year-round through a variety of special programs and initiatives.  With the support of PSI members and partners, PSI is proud of the following efforts that benefit pets worldwide:

Quest Charity Auction

Each year, PSI hosts a charity auction at its annual Quest for Excellence Convention. Items are donated by PSI members, convention speakers and attendees, as well as a host of pet-related companies. The lively bidding each year has raised more than $82,000 for a variety of animal-related charities since the first auction in 1995. Auction beneficiaries have included Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH), the PSI Early Education Program and others.

PSI Early Education Program

As a beneficiary of PSI’s annual charity auction, the Early Education Program provides educational materials to elementary and middle schools in order to teach the next generation of pet owners about loving, responsible pet care. Participants in PSI's annual Quest Charity Auction provide the name of a local school to receive a collection of age-appropriate pet and pet-care books for the school library.

 Hungry Bowl Campaign

This charitable campaign is a unified, orchestrated effort by PSI and its membership to collect pet food for animal shelters across the U.S., Canada and abroad. Participating members oversee local Hungry Bowl pet food drives in their local communities during the month of December to collect much needed pet food donations for local animal shelters and/or rescue groups in need.
