2015 Take Your Dog To Work Day®: PSI Encourages Businesses to Start Planning Now

Pet Sitters International (PSI), creator of Take Your Dog To Work Day®, encourages businesses to start planning now for the 17th annual celebration of PSI’s Take Your Dog To Work Day® (TYDTWDay®), scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2015. Businesses interested in participating in TYDTWDay® can download the free 2015 Action Pack from the event website, www.takeyourdog.com.

The 2015 TYDTWDay Action Pack is a planning guide for participants and provides step-by-step instructions for planning an office event. It even addresses common management concerns and includes a sample “dogs at work” policy and event participation forms.

“Each year, many businesses—even those not traditionally pet friendly—make plans to open their doors to employees’ dogs for TYDTWDay,” explained PSI President Patti Moran. “The Action Pack is extremely helpful for those businesses—as well as any businesses participating—that may need tips and ideas for planning their event.”

Created by PSI in 1995, TYDTWDay encourages employers to experience the joys of pets in the workplace for one special day to celebrate the great companions dogs make and promote adoptions from local shelters, rescue groups and humane societies.

Modern Dog magazine is the print media sponsor for the 2015 event.

Businesses unable to participate on Friday, June 26, or that wish to incorporate other pets in the celebration are encouraged to pick any day during Take Your Pet To Work Week™, June 22-26, to plan an event.

“We find that companies that participate in their first TYDTWDay celebration enjoy it so much, they participate year after year,” added Moran. “Employees have fun, businesses garner local media attention and most importantly, awareness is raised for pet adoption.”
