About My Business

The Next Best Thing of Gunnison, LLC was founded by Sue Runge in 1999. She has a Bachelors degree in Equine Science from CSU. You can enjoy your time away from home, leaving your home, ranch or other animal operation in her capable hands. She has been showing and raising German Shepherd Dogs since 2012, and has been Gunnison County's 4-H Dog Training Project leader since 2016. She was also on the Board of Directors and volunteered weekly for the local animal shelter for over 15 years.

Any past, present or future staff members of The Next Best Thing have also had some sort of schooling or training in an animal related field.

We provide half-hour, 1, 2 & 3 hour long visits, as well as overnight service, allowing your animals to remain in their own homes, where they are comfortable, healthy and safe. We are very happy to discuss your individual needs and arrange a way we can help you with your unique situation.

Of course, being at home with your animals is always best ... But when you are away from home and your animals can't be with you, we are The Next Best Thing. Providing you Peace of Mind until we welcome you home.
