"I was rather frantic a couple years ago when we needed to leave for several days and knowing past experiences at kennels had been traumatic both for Jag, our Great Dane, and me. You can’t enjoy being away when every minute is spent worrying about your dog’s anxiety, gastric/intestinal upheaval, abandonment fears, discomfort in an unfamiliar environment, etc. And since most kennels cater to cat-sized dogs, finding sufficient space for a 150 pound Dane that would accommodate his height and space needs was basically impossible. We wanted him to stay in our home. Which he views as his kennel.nFortunately for us, our veterinarian had Teena King, owner of Wagz & Whiskers, on speed dial and directed us to her care. Teena responded immediately to both my request for “special treatment” and my post-traumatic stress from past experiences. Don’t laugh. I feel your head nodding.nWhether helping us out for noon-time outside breaks or staying at our home overnight for several days, we never worry. Her initial assessment of Jag, us, our home, expectations and so on was so thorough I was extremely impressed. She wanted to know us like she knows her own pets and family. After every visit Teena leaves a note on what she did, how Jag responded, and any particulars that may be important to us. My initial need to text her – frequently – was met with patience and support. Today, while I’m interested that all is going well if we’re gone, I truly enjoy our time away knowing it’s all under control. nThere are not enough positive words or examples to express how loving, conscientious, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and qualified Teena is. "Traveling is much more pleasant when I know Teena is taking care of my two dogs and three cats. I have a complex cat situation (two cats hate each other) and I have to keep them separated - this includes shifting the cats between the house, a special cat room, and outside. With anybody else other that Teena, who is a stickler for detail, I'd worry that my cats would end up in a big fight and one would get a very expensive abscess which has happened twice before.nAnd my dogs, Haley and Cody, are relaxed and happy when we get home from a trip since Teena took them on walks and spent time playing with them.nI know my animals are getting the best care and it's a relief to be worry-free on vacation!nnShari Hanson "
