About My Business

Founded in 2002, Kingwood Paws & Claws has been serving the Kingwood area for longer than any other pet-sitting service. Kingwood Paws & Claws is owned and operated by Shelly Leith.

As an adult, Leith has extended her enthusiasm for pets to other people’s animals through pet sitting.

Before opening her own business, Leith worked at Enron for 16 years until its downfall. “After that, I wasn’t able to find a job in the energy field,” Leith said. “I spoke to an acquaintance who connected me with a woman who had run her own pet care business and was retiring.”

Currently Leith has four pet sitters working with her – Traci, Allyn, Colby, and Pat. The primary relationship each client has within the company is with the pet sitter assigned to his or her pet(s). The company could not succeed without the dedication and devotion these individuals have shown over the years. Having honest, dependable employees is crucial for any business and especially in a situation where the employee is tasked with going into the client’s home and taking good care of the client’s beloved pets.

We provide exceptional care in your home for a variety of pets.

Services for dogs include feeding, playtime, and walking at no extra charge. For cats, we feed them, change their water on each visit, play time and brushing, and cleaning the litter box on each visit. We can provide multiple references from clients whose needs are similar to your own.

In addition to the pet care, we perform a variety of household tasks, including mail retrieval, watering plants, and checking the house for any mechanical problems.
