Providing peace of mind that while traveling your pets will be well cared for.
Tracey Riva, sole proprietary of Home Alone Pet Sitting, has one simple mission statement: To provide peace of mind for pet owners who are traveling, that the pets left at home are well cared for. She sees this as a three-fold process:
1. To keep your pets stress-free, by keeping them in the environment that they are used to and in a routine that is as close as possible to the one that they are accustomed to.
2. To go beyond basic care, and to give each pet the love, attention and playtime that hey still need in your absence.
3. To stay in communication with you after each visit with an update. This will help to keep you stress-free while you travel.
Tracey operates the business with the help of her husband and daughter Alexis, who is a vet technician. She has no employees, so there will never be a question as to who will be caring for your pets and whether or not they will show up. She will provide you with a packet including a client contract, and authorization to have veterinary care if needed, and a document notifying authorities that she has the right to be in your home. She is bonded and insured, and has a spotless record with the Better Business Bureau. In business now for over three years, but with many more years of pet experience having grown up on a dairy farm. Tracey has 22 of her own rescues at home and Alexis is trying to catch up to her. Although dogs and cats make up the majority of her clientele, Tracey has experienced either owning and/or caring for horses, birds, potbellied pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits and tropical fish. There are almost no pet-related situations that she has not faced at one time or another. Several clients have her care for their horse farms while they are away. She comes highly referred by local Olive Branch and Southaven veterinarians and many equine veterinarians.
Here is the process: She begins with a short meet and greet to see if you and your pets like her and it gives her a chance to meet your pets. If you decide to use her services, she will stop back before you leave to go over her obligations and the pets' routines. You then schedule her for as many pet lists per day as need be, each visit being a minimum of thirty minutes. She will use the entire thirty minutes for your pets, more time if necessary, allowing them to have the playtime and attention they need. She times her visits to keep your pets as close as possible to their normal routine. After each visit you will receive a text message, or call if you prefer, assuring you that all is well at home and to bring up any concerns she may have.
Tracey treats every pet as if it were her own, and for this reason some of her clients use her every weekend or even daily while they are at work. She takes special pride in making your pets comfortable with her, treating petting and playtime just as important as eating and going outdoors. She knows from experience how stressful it is to travel with pets left at home. You need someone there that you can be confident in and who actually cares.
