Exceptional Care for Pets and Peace of Mind for Owners
Equal parts Dog Nanny and “Mary Puppins,” I handle everything with care and leave pets and homes a little better off than when I arrived. Professional, insured, and passionate about what I do—it’s more than pet sitting; it’s peace of mind.
ABOUT MY BUSINESS
I’m a Dog Nanny and treat your dog as my own. Their safety and happiness are my top priorities—along with (human) customer satisfaction.
Some clients affectionately call me “Mary Puppins” because I come in, handle everything with care, and leave pets and homes a little better off than when I arrived. I take that comparison as the highest compliment—it reflects the pride and joy I bring to this work.
GENERAL OFFERINGS, PHILOSOPHY, AND EXPERIENCE
I provide in-home pet care that gives owners true peace of mind—ensuring your pets and your home are both exceptionally cared for.
Animals thrive on consistency, routine, and familiar surroundings, especially when separated from their owners. For this reason, I do not board animals in my own home.
I’m well-educated (boarding school, Boston College), professional, and friendly, with over 50 years of life experience and a deep passion for understanding animal behavior, dynamics, and training. In 2016, I left corporate life and made caring for pets my full-time profession—and have never looked back.
I stay with pets (mostly dogs, though I also love cats, birds, fish, and bunnies). My first priority is their care and comfort. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, ensuring every detail is handled exactly as requested.
In addition to sending daily photos and videos, I walk dogs two to three times per day, provide plenty of playtime and grooming, and administer medications as needed. If I step out briefly, I leave pets with calming music and enrichment toys to keep them relaxed.
Owners determine whether we visit public parks, go off-leash, or have access to people food—your rules are my rules.
Over the years, I’ve gained experience with separation anxiety, geriatric pets (including those requiring hand-feeding or mobility assistance), newborn litters, and pregnant or nursing mothers. I’ve also had the privilege of working closely with a highly respected breeder—a mentorship I jokingly call my “PhD in dogs.”
I handle every aspect of pet and home care: scooping waste, hosing patios after gardener visits, throwing balls, operating security systems, locks, gates, garage codes, and more. I use good judgment, act quickly when needed, and always have clients’ emergency and vet contacts on hand. If a situation arises, I assess calmly, take appropriate action, and contact you immediately.
Whenever possible, I prefer to use the family vehicle for emergency vet visits as this helps minimize stress for your pet.
YOUR HOME
It’s a privilege to be trusted with your home and belongings. I’m protective of client privacy and confidentiality. I don’t drink alcohol or use recreational drugs, and I never bring overnight guests. Any daytime visitors (such as a friend for coffee or a movie) are cleared in advance with clients.
Access to kitchen staples (coffee, leftovers, etc.) and workout equipment is always appreciated. I leave every home as I found it—or better—including restoring any seat or equipment settings (such as Peloton adjustments) to their original positions.
GETTING STARTED
My schedule fills quickly, so please text me at (650) 269-3909 to check availability and schedule a complimentary meet-and-greet.
For safety reasons, I no longer accept dogs weighing more than 85 pounds, though exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. All dogs must be up to date on vaccines, non-aggressive, and well-behaved on leash.
RATES
My base fee is $135 per day, depending on the number of pets and scope of work (typically $135 + $10 for each additional pet). This includes overnight care and up to three 25–30-minute walks per day, per dog.
Holiday rates add $30–$35 per day.
Additional factors that may increase rates include administering medications, managing mobility or hygiene challenges, caring for new mothers or newborn litters, or significant travel distance to assignment.
BILLING
I charge by the day. Any day reserved for your pets and home is billed at the full daily rate, as it prevents me from accepting another job. There are no “half-day” rates.
Example: A stay from Monday morning to Wednesday morning is billed as three days.
Reservations must be confirmed via text or phone prior to each assignment.
PAYMENT
Estimates and invoices are provided before each assignment. Payment in full (cash) is due on the first day of service.
There are no “half-day” rates. The invoice provided is an estimate; if the stay becomes significantly more time-consuming or complex, I will contact you to discuss a fair
adjustment.
TIPS & GRATITUDE
I bring more luggage than most weekend travelers—eight bags, a first-aid kit (certified), and enough pet know-how to run a small safari. This isn’t a side gig for me; it’s my full-time profession and a calling I take seriously. I treat every pet and home as if they were my own.
Tipping is never required, but always appreciated as a thoughtful acknowledgment of the care, training, experience, effort, and professionalism I bring to every stay.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations are accepted with three (3) weeks’ notice. Cancellations made within that window are subject to payment of two-thirds of the total engagement fee.
INSURANCE
I’m fully insured through Pet Sitters International and maintain comprehensive auto insurance.
COVID-19
I am fully vaccinated (including boosters) and can provide a current COVID test upon request.

"Maureen is our go to dog sitter. If she's not available during the dates we need her, we change our dates--she's that good! She first met our Yellow Lab, Charlie, when he was 8. He's now 13, and Maureen has been amazing at every stage. Tiring him out as a youngster, administering meds as he ages, and giving lots of hugs and cuddles regardless of his age! I highly recommend Maureen, and Charlie does too!"

"Maureen has been housesitting our beloved King Charles Cavalier, Snickers, for years now and we trust her like a family member. Well, maybe even more than a family member, as our kids are unlikely to provide the same commitment of loving care! Snickers can make poor choices, e.g. with regard to racoons or other dogs, and Maureen's approach to dog and house sitting leaves us with total confidence. In the 5+ years she has been sitting for us, ranging from weekends to multi-week trips, there have been zero issues. We would encourage anyone who needs a trusted sitter for their pets to work with Maureen! Plus she curates the very best pet videos from the internet on her Facebook page..."

"We used Maureen's services for the first time while we were out of town for 10 days. I cannot say enough great things about her!!! Our dog was loved, pampered and even sent us photos and videos of daily activies. We could tell he was happy and well take care of. I would highly recommend using her, but she books up quickly."
