INTRODUCTION. You love your pets in a way that some people don’t understand. At The Pet Nanny Silver Spring (The Pet Nanny), we do. Providing loving care for your furry, feathered, scaled, and finned creatures is something we do from the heart; it is with true joy that we lavish love and care upon your pets.

WHO WE ARE. The Pet Nanny is a local insured and bonded dog walking and pet sitting service owned and run by a mother (Dale Swift)-daughter (Lauren Swift) team. We have been operating The Pet Nanny in lower Montgomery County, MD for 14 years, and we have chosen to spend our lives sharing our love with pets and helping to rescue stray, homeless animals. Animals have been an integral part of both our lives; they teach us pure love and bring us personal contentment.

While Dale is retired from a prior career, Lauren decided to leave a previous career to follow her heart by joining her mother in caring for animals full-time. Pet care is not something we do simply as a viable business venture or part-time job. Giving pets high-quality, loving, attentive, responsible care while communicating closely with their humans about all details has proven to be an exceptionally fulfilling calling for us.

LOCATION. Silver Spring, MD

SERVICES. In 2023, we provide:

We serve a large portion of lower Montgomery County, MD, with limited availability across the greater D.C. Metro area for overnight pet sitting, as well.

OUR PET CARE GOALS. Our pet-care goals are to help animals feel safe, loved, and, yes, adored all while following your established pattern of nourishment, attention, and exercise/play for them. In this way, we aim to earn their trust and imbue them with a sense of satisfied well-being.

We understand how closely bonded pets, or pets who were rescued or have special needs may experience more marked anxiety when their humans are gone. We respect the importance of details around their routines, including feeding protocols and any medicine dosages and administration.

We aim to put ourselves in each pet owner’s place during each interaction, as we aim to ease pets’ anxiety, establish a positive relationship with them, and provide timely, detailed communications with pet parents.
