About My Business

Hi. I am Janet. I opened my pet sitting service over 30 years ago. I got started after I was taking care of feral cats at work. Then I started volunteering at Faxon Animal Rescue League in Fall River. It was sad and rewarding at the same time. My volunteer coordinator put me in touch with Patti Moran's book pet sitting for profit. I did my research and contacted a lawyer. It was then that Furry Friends was created! That was in June of 1996. It has been an amazing journey with so many Wonderful pets and their people. I also joined Pet Sitters International right from the start, and took advantage of many of the educational opportunities that they offer.

I also volunteer at Nine Lives of Norton Cat Shelter and have helped out at fundraisers with The Taunton Animal Shelter.

We moved to Georgia for a year and a half. I did a small amount of pet sitting there. I recently moved back to Massachusetts where I would like to reconnect with my clients and to meet new pets and people. I am insured and bonded. Most cats and some dogs do better in their own environment. They get personal attention and stick to a familiar routine.
