About My Business

Gentle Guardian Pet Sitting was established in 2010 by Dixie Schlabach. Her mission is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pets are cared for in a responsible, safe and gentle manner. A bonus is that your home is visited frequently for security purposes and maintenance concerns.

If you are looking for a pet sitter, you know that when you are away, you can reduce stress and separation anxiety in your pet(s) by keeping them in their own home with their own pet sitter--a pet sitter your pets will get to know and trust more and more with each visit. Your pets will be cared for by Dixie each time to establish that sense of security for them and for you. It is amazing how pets remember you even if they only see you once a year.

Visits will include the basics (food, water, medications, etc.). She will also provide loving attention, exercise and play in the manner each of your pet(s) appreciate most.

Discounts are available for people who work long hours and just need one mid-day visit Monday through Friday on a continuous basis.

In addition to precious dogs and cats, she has experience as a previous owner with horses and farm animals. Other pets are welcome, too. Overnights or 24-hour services are available when schedule allows. She is trained in dog CPR and First Aid through PetTech, Inc. Call 316-838-5691 to arrange for an initial consultation at no charge or obligation.

What my clients say:

"i would have no hesitation in recommending Dixie as a pet sitter. From our first meeting I could tell that she loves animals. Henry, our normally shy cat, was happy in her company. We returned to a contented cat. Thank you Dixie, I will be in contact again next time we are out of town. "
