PSI's 2026 Professional Pet Sitters Week, March 1-7
First introduced by Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 1995, Professional Pet Sitters Week™ takes place annually the first full week of March.
This annual observance honors professional pet-care providers, seeks to educate the pet-owning public about the advantages of professional in-home pet care and encourages pet-loving entrepreneurs to explore professional pet sitting as a viable career.
PSI's 2026 Professional Pet Sitters Week, March 1-7, will mark the 32nd annual celebration. This year's celebration encourages pet parents and pet-care pros alike to "Raise Your (Pet Sitter) Standards!"

+ Celebrate Thank Your Pet Sitter Day on March 4!
While PSI’s Professional Pet Sitters Week™ has served as an annual weeklong observance since 1995 to promote pet sitting as a career and highlight the work of professional pet sitters, we thought professional pet sitters deserved even more recognition!
So in 2023, we announced a new annual celebration—Thank Your Pet Sitter Day™—which is observed the Wednesday during Professional Pet Sitters Week each year.
PSI promotes this special day to pet parents and the general public through public relations and social-media promotions. The PSI team also reaches out to media contacts and pet-related companies and organizations around the globe.
Be sure to check out PSI’s Facebook and Instagram throughout the day on March 6 where we’ll be sharing reasons pet parents should thank their pet sitters and tips for how to show gratitude for your pet sitter. We’ll also be asking pet parents to share how using their professional pet sitter has made life better for them and their pets.We encourage you to share these posts!
