FOCUS Summit Agenda
One Day. 4 Sessions.
All focused on using pet enrichment to enhance your services.

10 a.m. – 11 a.m. ET | SESSION 1:
Feathered Fun: The Role of Enrichment in Avian Well-Being
In this session, Lorelei D’Avolio, CVT, VTS (Exotics), CVPM, will explain why enrichment is essential to a bird’s mental and physical health—and how you can bring more joy to their daily care. While the industry focuses primarily on dogs and cats, 68 percent of members indicate they offer bird care. It’s time to boost your bird-care skills and show clients you go above and beyond with enrichment-focused care. Lorelei will explore the powerful connection between enrichment and avian welfare, and provide simple, effective enrichment techniques you can confidently add to your bird-care visits.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET | SESSION 2:
Enrichment is a BIG Deal for Small Mammals
In this session, PSI member and professional pet-sitting business owner, Justina Allen-Yancey, will explain the benefits of enrichment for rabbits and other small mammals and share tried-and-true ideas for incorporating enrichment into your pet-care visits. While these may be the smallest of the pets you care for, they still have a big need for individualized care and enrichment. In additional to specific enrichment activities and ideas you can try, she’ll also share tips for promoting these enrichment efforts to current and potential clients to highlight your expertise and boost business!

2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. ET | SESSION 3:
The Secret Ingredient to Enhancing Your Dog Care and Boosting Business
In this session, Certified Canine Enrichment Technician (DN-CET) Tori Mistick will highlight the importance of canine enrichment and share simple, but effective activities and ideas you can incorporate into your dog walks and dogsitting visits. These ideas will help you provide enrichment, improve the quality of the care you provide, and strengthen your bond with the dogs in your care. In addition to offering practical strategies to enhance your dog-care services with enrichment, Tori will also share tips to help you promote your enhanced services to current and potential clients and boost business.

4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET | SESSION 4:
Feline Enrichment: The Secret to Happier Cats and (Human) Clients
In this session, Certified Feline Behavior and Training Consultant Marci Koski will explain the importance of enrichment for feline health and behavior and share practical activities pet sitters can incorporate in their cat-sitting visits. In particular, she will explore how you can easily and effectively use clicker training with their cat clients. Attendees will leave this session with more tools in their “cat-enrichment toolbox” and with more confidence to promote the value of feline enrichment to clients.
