ZUHAUS CARE PHILOSOPHY

Pronounced “zoo how zuh” (yes, like “zoo”).

ZuHaus comes from the German phrase zu Hause, meaning “at home”. More than just a physical place, the phrase reflects belonging, emotional grounding, familiar routines, and that everyday ease that is only felt within the home.

ZuHaus approaches care through this lens of the home as a living system, where companions are part of the daily rhythm and emotional fabric of the space. Guided by this belief, services are provided exclusively within the calm rhythm of a home setting. Rather than relying on rotating app sitters or placing pets in commercial settings, contemporary companion care is delivered idyllically within trusted residential environments - focusing care where your companion naturally feels most secure.

The ZuHaus team works across your Home and our Provider Home care environments to support emotional balance, preserve household flow, and provide a steady presence your companion can truly rely on while you are away.

ABOUT KELLIE TAYLOR

Led by founder Kellie Taylor, ZuHaus is a San Francisco-based private pet care + house sitting + lifestyle services practice supporting clients who need consistent, professional care that respects both their companions and the demading structure of contemporary metropolitan households.

Her practice grew organically through referrals from families who valued a more thoughtful approach to care. Many had previously experienced the instability of traditional pet sitting services and were looking for something more complete and dependable. Not simply someone to check in on a pet, but someone who understands the broader context of their dynamic lifestyles and the central role companions play within it.

Kellie’s work blends attentive companion care with operational discipline, bringing systems thinking, strong client service instincts, and deep respect for the emotional bonds and environments she and her team are invited into. Her standards prioritize calm continuity, reliability, and clear communication, creating a seamless care experience that reduces disruption and keeps pets settled and thriving.

While Kellie remains the primary Provider and point of contact, the practice includes a small number of trained team members who support care during availability gaps, service transitions, holiday care periods, and extended stays. Each Provider operates under Kellie’s supervision and exemplifies the same care philosophy and professional standards that define the practice. This structure allows ZuHaus to provide dependable, year-round continuity in care without requiring clients to coordinate across unfamiliar sitters or platforms for all companion and home care needs.

Pricing reflects the practice's intentional client capacity, a dedicated team of expert Providers, and exclusively home-based care environments. Rates are structured to sustain continuity, discretion, and trusted consistency over time rather than volume or transactional service.

Current care investment begins at $110 for Private Drop-In Visits/Dog Walking, $275 for Daycare @ ZuHaus, $350 for Overnight Boarding @ ZuHaus, $400 for Private Client Home Daycare, and $650 for Private Client Overnight Pet+House Sitting.

Additional care investment applies to puppy care, specialized needs, additional companions, extended service window coverage, and holiday scheduling.
