Lecture, demonstration and hands-on skills practice can prepare you to confidently help a sick or injured pet in your care. Instructor and author Denise Fleck teaches the most up-to-date methods (conventional and more homeopathic) to help you help the pets in your care before you reach the veterinarian or animal emergency center. Fleck is the Pet Safety Crusader™ and has shared animal safety techniques on CBS-TV’s The Doctors, ANIMAL PLANET’S Groomer Has It and Pit Boss, A&E’s Kirstie Alley’s Big Life, YAHOO!’s Animal Nation and CNN Headline News.

During this comprehensive, six-hour workshop, attendees will receive Fleck's latest Pet First Aid and CPR Quick Reference for Dog & Cat Parents and Pet Professionals, certificate, wallet card, instruction and hands-on skills practice in:

  • Muzzling, restraint and safe approach of an injured or ill animal
  • Getting Down on all Fours for a pet's sake (maintaining a safe environment)
  • Checking vitals and learning signs and symptoms of "something not right" including the urgency of dealing with shock
  • Rescue breathing and CPCR and the Heimlich-like Maneuver for pets
  • Bandaging and splinting techniques
  • What to do for: bloat, burns, choking, constipation, diarrhea, drowning, electric shock, frostbite, heat stroke, poisoning, seizures, snake bites, bee and jelly fish stings, and upset stomachs, as well as A-Z tips on topics ranging from abscesses to zinc poisoning 
  • How to use the items in your pet first-aid kit
  • Practice labs in a number of hands-on skills
