Professional pet sitters raise $20,010 for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts
The proceeds from Pet Sitters International’s annual charity auction will benefit the SPCA of Texas.
KING, N.C. (September 26, 2017) — Pet Sitters International members came together last week to make a big impact for pets in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, raising $20,010 for the SPCA of Texas.
Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters, held its annual charity auction on Sept. 20 during PSI’s 2017 Pet Sitter World Educational Conference & Expo in New Orleans, La. PSI members, friends and supporters who were not able to attend the live auction were given an opportunity to donate money online in the days leading up to the auction. Combined, the efforts brought in $20,010 for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
“The SPCA of Texas is an organization that was recommended by our members in impacted areas of Texas,” explained Beth Stultz, PSI vice-president, marketing and operations. “We are so grateful that the generous professional pet-sitting community has been able to make a huge impact to help pets in need after Hurricane Harvey.”

Each year, PSI members raise thousands of dollars for a worthy pet-related charity at PSI’s Pet Sitter World conference. Auction items are donated by conference attendees, local businesses, PSI staff, PSI’s Preferred Providers and exhibitors, as well as other companies in the pet industry and PSI members unable to attend the conference.
